Effective date: 8 July 2026 · Version 1.0
This Privacy Policy explains how SelectivePath, operated by [Registered business name] (ABN [ABN]), collects, uses, discloses and protects personal information. We are bound by the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). Because our Service is used to prepare children for school tests, we take particular care with children's information.
When you add a child, we collect only what is needed to run their practice:
We do not require a child's surname, email address, date of birth, home address or contact details.
Paid subscriptions are processed by our payment provider, Stripe. Card details are entered directly with Stripe — we do not see or store your full card number. We may store a payment/subscription reference.
Child profiles are created and controlled by the parent or guardian who holds the account. By adding a child you confirm you are their parent or guardian and consent to our handling of their information as described here. We apply data minimisation, do not send marketing to children, and give you tools to view and delete your children's data.
We only send marketing emails to account holders with consent, and you can opt out at any time.
We do not sell personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us run the Service, under contract, including:
We may also disclose information where required or authorised by law, or to protect our rights, users or the public.
Some of our service providers may store or process information outside Australia (for example, in the United States). Where this occurs, we take reasonable steps to ensure the information is handled consistently with the APPs.
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information, including encryption in transit (HTTPS), securely hashing passwords and PINs, server-side checking of test answers, rate-limiting, and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and to respond to any data breach in line with our obligations, including the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.
We keep personal information while your account is active and as needed to provide the Service and meet legal obligations. When you close your account or ask us to delete a child's data, we will delete or de-identify it within a reasonable period, except where we are required to retain it.
You can view and update much of your information from your dashboard. You may also ask us to access or correct your personal information (APPs 12 and 13) by contacting us at [contact email]. We may need to verify your identity first.
We use an essential login cookie and minimal local storage. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. See our Cookie Policy.
If you have a privacy concern, please contact us at [contact email] and we will investigate. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The latest version will always be available here, and we will notify you of material changes.
